  1. Very thought provoking!
    But ‘stay at home dad’, surely?

  2. Ah yes, maybe. Although I did hear ‘stay at home dad’ on Woman’s Hour the other day so it is used. I’m not sure I have heard ‘stay at home mum’ before. I thought people said ‘mum’ for a stay at home mum. So maybe it’s neither?

    Brilliant post, took me a moment before a wry smile. Agree though that ‘stay at home mum’ is in common usage, it’s even got its own acronym on Mumsnet: SAHM.

  4. asicsgirl says:

    Like it! ‘Yummy’ is also chosen because of rhyme with ‘mummy’ of course… delicious daddies? delectable daddies? hot pops??

  5. Yes, that’s very true I love hot pops!! Brilliant!

  6. Mrs Target says:

    Dishy daddies, surely?

  7. Nicola says:

    big boy’s blouse

  8. Thanks Nicola. Those are BRILLIANT! Inspired. Thanks for adding them. I actually had to think about gentleman doctor. Shame on me!

  9. AngryofAlton says:

    Can I throw in a Gentleman’s Day at the Races or down the Golf Club?

  10. AngryofAlton says:

    … And how long since you last saw a male plumber

  11. Liam says:

    Always thought DILF was a daughter… how about FILF – Father I’d Like to F…. Has kind of a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

    Also, motherf***er -> fatherf***er!
